The SoHT Paid Professional Internship Process for TIS200 has been confirmed by the College

This webpage helps in making you aware of the process and procedures for successful completion for TIS200: Professional Internship.

  • Enrol into TIS200, complete the documents shown on the important links and documents section of this page and work in a paid internship for 220 hours. Your potential employer must complete all forms, the employer must be approved by the College, and have the applicable insurance coverage.

SoHT PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP PROCESS

 

Pre-Approval Process

• Student identifies an employer for their work placement / Professional Internship

• Student provides the employer the Employer Agreement Form and asks them to complete and provide completed copy to student

• Student completes the online intake form (SOHT Intake Form) and attaches their completed Employer Agreement Form

• Seneca properly vets employer to ensure their legitimacy. Students will receive confirmation by email confirming pre- approval.

Once the form is signed, please complete our online intake form to request approval for the requested action. This form will help us verify the provided information and ensure that we can proceed with your request in a timely and efficient manner.

 

Vet Job & Check Insurance Coverage

• Once pre-approved by Seneca, students will obtain a job description, and if role is paid from the employer

• Students send Program Coordinator and Professor this information for review of placement/position/job to ensure it is suitable for the placement type

 

International Students:

International students require a valid Co-op Work Permit to complete the Optional Co-Op with WIL or the Professional Internship.

If you require a letter to apply for your permit, please click the button below and fill out the necessary details.

Domestic Students:

Domestic students travelling out of province for a work experience including a co-op and work term must purchase Seneca’s Travel/Medical Insurance to cover basic health care needs.
